Day 1 New York City

New York City
Today was a busy and an amazing day!! On the first day we saw New York Public Library, but did you know you can never check out a book from the library otherwise you will be arrested. The actual library to check out a book is across the street. Next we went to Rockefeller Center. Each one of us had a chance to see our countries flag and even an Easter Bunny skating on the Ice Rink.

Sarah, Germany, "Rockefeller was so cool because the Ice Rink is open all year round. I also loved the flowers and decorations. It is also really neat that you can walk under ground and the whole city city is connected together."
Mari, Brazil, "I loved Rockefeller center because of the Easter Bunny skating with the kids.
Kim, South Korea,"There are so many countries represented in one area."

We went to Central Park and everyone agreed it was exactly like the movies.

Kim, "There was a lot of horses  and the street food was really good."

Sarah,"It is really cool to think about that in the 1900's you could go through Central Park in the carriages and they are still presently there. The musicians we saw played good music such as Sunday Church Music, Hip Hop Dancers and Guitar players."

Mari, "We also heard a lot of good music from the street musicians We also saw a ballerina doing a photo shoot right next to the famous fountain."

Central Park
Off on the bus again to one Ivy League school known as Columbia University.

Mari, "One day I would love to study there because its in New York and the campus is really nice. I would love to law."

Kim,"I was glad to be at an Ivy League school with a lot of intelligent people."

Once we were done at Columbia, we went to Greenwich Village for Lunch.

Sarah, "We had pizza for lunch in a small New York Restaurant. We also accidentally stumbled onto Carrie Bradshaw's apartment. We took a lot of pictures at this location."

Kim, "We went to Amy's Bread which is a really famous bakery in NYC!!!"

Our next stop was the Metropolitan of Everything. In this place they have Egyptian Temples, Fashion, Art, and tons of sculpture.

Sarah, "It was humongous. My favorite place was the Egyptian Art and I also liked the Asian Sculptures. Buddha was there!!

Mari, "I really liked the European Art. My favorite piece was a sculpture called the "Sleeping Arrow"

Kim, "I got to see Mummies in the Egyptian Temple. We also had a chance to got through an Egyptian Pyramid."

You can't go to New York City without doing a little dancing. We were in a Hip Hop Class today. We learned how to break it down and have true swagger...
Our teacher was a background dancer for the Black Eyed Peas and all of us learned how to dance really well. We had a fun time, but we all definitely have to take a shower tonight because we worked up a sweat.

The best part of the whole day was seeing...

TIMES SQUARE!!!!

Kim, "My first reaction to Times Square was different than what I thought it would be. It was a lot brighter and less crowded, but it was amazing. I had so much fun taking pictures and seeing it for the first time."

Time Square
Mari, "I had the chance to appear on the screen for one of the billboards. It made you feel famous."
Time Square

Sarah, "You could hold your hands in the sky, like Timothy Green, but instead of inhaling the sun it was the feeling of giant buildings, spectacular lights and hundreds of people around you and that's when I knew I had reach Times Square."

It is only Day 1 in New York City and we are so ready to hit the Big Apple tomorrow. Stay tune for Day 2
